About the event
Lag B'Omer, the 33rd day of counting the Omer, is a day of joy often celebrated outdoors. Beginning on the second night of Passover, Jews begin counting the Omer, a seven-week period which leads up to the next major holiday, Shavuot. Historically, this time between the two holidays was a somber period due to a plague that occurred thousands of years ago. According to tradition, the plague lifted on one day, the thirty-third day. The word “Lag” is made of the Hebrew letters lamed (ל) and gimel(ג), which together have the numerical value of 33. Please join us on this special day.
